As an Occasional Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently by ensuring the safe and timely delivery of sensitive and confidential assets.
This position is perfect for individuals who have a flexible schedule and are enthusiastic about supporting the daily operations of a forward-thinking organisation. This role requires thorough vetting and adherence to strict security protocols, including compliance with ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities for the role include:
o Transporting of packages to and from designated locations in a secure and timely manner.
o Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, noting any issues or damages and report them to management.
o Obtain proof of delivery and collection of all assets.
o Always ensuring the safety and protection of assets
o Following all traffic laws and safety protocols.
o Assisting with loading and unloading packages, ensuring they are handled with care.
o Mapping out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most efficient trip.
o Adjusting routes to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed.
o Maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel time, and locations travelled to.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience as a driver, ideally in a commercial setting.
* Ability to handle physical work, including lifting and carrying assets.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
* Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.
* Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the varying needs of the role.
* Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30 to 17:00 – Rota basis and cover of holidays.
