What will you be doing?
Reporting into the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, you'll be taking on full end to end strategic and operational responsibility for circa £20m worth of spend across the Electrical, Electro-Mechanical and Hydraulic commodities. Managing a small team of 2, you'll define commodity strategies that will develop the supply chain and identify new supplier opportunities that focus on risk reduction rather than cost reduction, working closely with the Group purchasing function to exit high risk, under performing suppliers and manage the transition to new, more stable providers. You'll lead the supplier performance and relationship management activity for your commodities, ensuring suppliers are performing against your negotiated contract terms and conditions. The current supplier base is focused mainly in the UK, Turkey, Poland, India and Slovakia, and there is potential this will also include China in the future. You'll be working closely with multiple functions across the business, most notably Engineering.

What do you need to bring to the party?
To be successful in this role it's expected that you'll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:
* Proven experience holding commodity/category responsibility for Electrical/Hydraulic/Electro-Mechanical procurement in a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive
* Previous people management experience is advantageous, although not essential if you can demonstrate the right leadership traits required to successfully manage
* Experience working, and negotiating, with international suppliers
* Willing and able to travel across the UK and EU as and when required - you'll be responsible for your own travel diary
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Willing and able to be on-site at the Warwick office 3 days a week
