A leading Yorkshire law firm is seeking to appoint a Construction Partner to join its highly regarded Construction & Engineering team. Known for delivering tailored and pragmatic legal advice, the firm is trusted by a diverse client base across both the private and public sectors.
The team provides a comprehensive service across all aspects of construction and engineering, including procurement, contract services, and dispute resolution. Their expertise spans infrastructure, energy, and public procurements, working with developers, contractors, sub-contractors, professional consultants, funders, local authorities, charities, schools, academies, colleges, and universities.
The Role
The firm is looking for a Construction Partner to:
1. Strengthen its existing construction practice and enhance client offerings.

3. Take on the role of Head of Construction in the near future.
Applicants should ideally already be operating at partner level and have a following to bring with them, though senior associates and directors looking for a step up to partnership will also be considered. A strong focus on contentious construction work is essential, with additional non-contentious experience being advantageous.
The Ideal Candidate

Key requirements include:
1. The ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and concisely.
2. A track record of handling cases independently and delivering excellent client service.
3. A commercial and practical approach to legal support.
4. An engaging and approachable style, fostering trusted advisor relationships.
As a senior leader, the candidate should embody the firm’s core values, demonstrating empathy, collaboration, and innovation while supporting the development of colleagues. A people-focused mindset and commitment to mentorship are essential.
