An Accounts Assistant provides general financial and administrative support to the accounting department. The role involves processing and monitoring payments, expenditures, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate records of incoming invoices including matching, checking, and coding.
* Maintain orderly financial records and ensure data accuracy in the ledger.
* Assist with processing payments and managing expenses.
* Reconciliation of supplier’s statements.
* Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
* Working out VAT and CIS payments.
* Petty Cash and Expenses reconciliation.
* Ensure all financial practices adhere to statutory law and financial regulations.
* Provide assistance during financial audits by ensuring all information is available and accurate.
* Answering phones, handling mail, and filing.
Accounts Assistant Skills:
* Experience with accounting software (Sage 200 desirable).
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Driven to progress and wanting to learn.
* Training available.
