Head of Science - Secondary School - Croydon (Outer London Pay Scale, TLR Available)
Teaching Personnel's PWR team are seeking an exceptional and visionary Head of Science to lead a dynamic and successful department in a well-regarded secondary school in Croydon. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to shape the future of science education within the school and inspire a passion for scientific discovery in students across all key stages. The school boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and a dedicated team of science specialists, creating an environment conducive to both teaching excellence and student achievement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Strategic Leadership: Providing strategic direction for the Science department, developing and implementing a forward-thinking curriculum that aligns with national standards and best practices.
* Curriculum Development: Leading the development and implementation of an engaging and challenging science curriculum, ensuring that it is accessible to all students and promotes deep learning.
* Teaching and Learning: Maintaining high standards of teaching and learning within the department, providing guidance and support to colleagues to ensure consistently excellent outcomes for students.
* Staff Management: Leading and managing a team of science teachers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
* Student Progress: Monitoring and evaluating student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning and implementing effective intervention strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A strong track record of successful leadership in a science department.
* A deep understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for science.
* Excellent teaching skills and a passion for science education.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
