Senior Environmental Health Officer needed in Leamington Spa, £22.51ph PAYE – Reference: 5250341
Work pattern days are negotiable
1. To deliver excellent customer service by providing day to day operational leadership to improve housing conditions within the private rented sector and improve the management and conditions of those properties regulated and enforced through advice, informal and formal action via the Courts and Tribunal. Maximising the availability and accessibility of private housing, working in partnership with colleagues to enable residents to remain in their homes safely and comfortably.
2. Take a lead role in enforcement and effectively manage a personal case load of the most serious and complex housing related complaints affecting the health, safety and well-being of tenants in the private rented sector.
3. Proactively monitoring landlords and working with Planning colleagues to resolve issues. Lead discussions with Legal Services to take appropriate cases to Court and Tribunals.
4. Respond to requests for service in relation to matters dealt with by the team. Carry out investigations to ensure that, where applicable, housing defects are abated through informal or statutory action.
5. To run a responsive housing complaints service and ensure that enquiries from tenants and partners are correctly logged, distributed and progressed within timescales laid down in the service standards.
6. Take enforcement responsibility for the most complex cases involving bringing Empty Homes back into use.
This is a part time role on a temporary contract basis.
