Our client, a consultancy based in Gateshead, is recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer who will be working on a wide range of projects, mainly in social and private housing. The consultancy provides innovative engineering solutions and has won multiple awards. The most successful candidate will receive a range of benefits, flexible working arrangements, and a competitive salary of up to £55,000.
The Senior Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to work alongside innovative engineers providing sustainable solutions to the market, while leading the technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services from feasibility through to planning, detailed design, and construction.

Hours: 35 hour week - half day Friday

Job Overview
1. Working on a range of projects including Housing, Commercial, Residential, and Extra Care developments.
2. Ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
3. Leading day-to-day technical delivery.
4. Using design-based software for innovative infrastructure solutions on public and private sector projects.
5. Producing drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports, and site appraisals.
6. Working to relevant UK design standards.
Job Requirements
1. BEng, Meng, MSc, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering.
2. Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience working within an engineering consultancy.
3. Ability to produce drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports, and site appraisals.
4. Knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance, and preparation of technical approvals.
5. Working understanding of technical software including AutoCAD, Microdrainage/Flow, Causeway Live/PDS/Civil 3D, and AutoTrack.
6. Experience working with residential developers.
7. Strong written and verbal skills in English.
8. Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide support or mentoring to others within the team.
