Job Advert - Division Information
Providing quality, inspiring innovation and delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health illness to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Job Advert Location Description
Priory Hospital, Southampton are looking for an enthusiastic therapist to join the psychology team in delivering individual therapy, group therapies and assessments as part of delivering excellent standards of care for NHS service users requiring inpatient hospital admission.
This role could cater for someone seeking flexible working alongside another job role or other commitments as we are open to considering one day a week, on up to considering a therapist for a full-time position - part-time and full-time being considered.
The individual therapy delivered at our hospital is exclusively with the service users on our specialist eating disorder ward, Skylark, therefore we are seeking a therapist with an interest or previous experience in working with those suffering with an eating disorder.
Group therapy takes place across our three wards, with groups for eating disorder difficulties, and too groups for adults on an acute admission on either our Starling or Sandpiper wards which both serve adults with acute mental health difficulties requiring hospital admission. Experience of delivering groups deriving from CBT, DBT and/or ACT approaches would be desirable.
In addition to the above, we are routinely involved in delivering carer support, assessments and written psychological formulations for the adult acute wards, facilitating training for staff, holding consults/peer supervision, and holding reflective practice sessions for staff; a candidate enthusiastic towards these aspects of delivering a psychology service for a hospital would be welcomed as they would form an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and would sit alongside a number of other allied health professions, including occupational therapy, psychiatry, medicine, dietetics and social work.
The successful candidate will be an accredited therapist with a professional body such as BACP, or BABCP.
CBT therapists and/or DBT therapists would be encouraged to apply, alongside any therapists with a level 5 qualification in their respective field of counselling/therapy/psychotherapy.
Experience in outpatient or inpatient NHS services would be desirable owing to the nature of this role being NHS facing and within an inpatient context.
This role will be on-site and therapies delivered in-person.
The successful candidate will be welcomed into a passionate and positive team of professionals, headed by a Counselling Psychologist within the psychology team, and made up of a Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Creative Arts Therapist, and an Assistant Psychologist. This team is overseen within the wider therapy services umbrella headed by therapy manager, Sarah Marsh.
There will be opportunities for continuing professional development and your passion, style and ambitions would be taken into account as you grew within the role. Particular professional development would see the candidate gaining distinct experience in working with acute distress and eating disorders, allowing for the possibility of specialism.
