INTERNAL VACANCY York Learning are an adult learning provider committed to providing high quality education across the City of York. York Learning work with a range of learners from aged 16 right up to 100 over a broad range of provision. This post is aimed at the provision for 16-18 young adult learners. A vacancy has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Learner Support within the Foundation Learning - Routes2Success programme. The main responsibility of the role is to support learners with complex and unpredictable social, emotional and mental health needs and/or special educational needs to access learning in small group settings. Working with the Programme Manager and Learning & Skills Tutors you will provide efficient and effective learning support in learning and during periods of assessment. You will be supporting learners aged 16-19 and up to 25 with an Education and Health Care Plan. Support for learners is required in the classroom environment and during enrichment or pastoral visits. You will also provide support to learners in external work placements, accompanying as and when required, enabling them to progress to work independently. Experience of supporting learners with additional needs and those who are vulnerable and have complex SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs is essential. This post is front facing, located at Winterscale House, Winterscale Street, York. This post is fixed to 2 days a week, Monday and Wednesday.
