Senior Structural Engineer - required for our rapidly expanding client to work across Scotland and will be based in or around Glasgow with a mixture of site visits and home working. The Senior Structural Engineer will be working for a company that operates across the UK specializing in Structural Inspections supported by a Structural Design team. This is a unique role that covers both Surveying and Design.
The Senior Structural Engineer will have extensive experience in structural design and surveys to join a growing dynamic business. This opportunity will suit a Senior Structural Engineer who has a passion and drive for Structural Engineering and new technologies, looking to take the technical and operational lead for the regional design team. The company will fully support the Engineer to become chartered if not already and to progress their career as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspection of all types of buildings and structures and the preparation of digital reports
* Preparation of specifications for remedial works
* Providing technical support for Buildings Insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, and storm damage
* Completing site visits for residential and commercial building projects using digital technology
* Delivering small to medium design projects
* Delivering design calculations for buildings insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, impact, flooding, and storm damage
* Reporting to the Managing Director and providing progress reports
* Developing new ideas to help shape the future of the business
Qualifications:
* 1+ or higher degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
* Several years' experience in structural surveys of buildings and design
* Proficiency in IT systems and software including AutoCAD, TEDDS
* Good understanding of building structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber
* MICE or MIStructE or close to achieving
* Passionate about new technologies, progressive change, and continuous improvement
* Car owner and UK driving licence, able to travel to site
