Job Advertisement: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND Support) - KS1 Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND Support) Location: Halton Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: £12 - £15 per hour Start Date: September 2024 Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 child with SEND on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the child, providing tailored support to enhance their learning experience and overall development. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 child with SEND, adapting learning materials and activities to meet their individual needs. • Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. • Implement and follow individualised education plans (IEPs) and contribute to their development and review. • Support the child's social and emotional well-being, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to deliver cohesive support. • Monitor and report on the child’s progress, maintaining accurate records. • Encourage independence and confidence in the child's learning and daily activities. Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a school setting. • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Commitment to promoting an inclusive educational environment.
