Qualification and Experience
12. Qualified Teacher Status
13. Degree qualification
14. An excellent class teacher
15. Experience as a primary, secondary or SEND teacher
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
16. Food technology experience, ideally to secondary/GCSE level
17. Expert understanding of innovative pedagogy
18. Experience of assessment without levels including tracking pupil progress
19. Knowledge and understanding of statutory assessment arrangements at KS2 and/or KS3 and KS4
20. Knowledge and understanding of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupils
21. Excellent knowledge of inclusion including SEMH, EAL, bilingual learners, minority ethnic
22. achievement and equality (race, disability, and gender)
23. Excellent understanding of safeguarding especially the safety and welfare of vulnerable and
24. disadvantaged pupils
25. Expert knowledge of strategies for closing the gap
26. The ability and willingness to teach a range of subjects, from KS2 – KS4 and post-16 as required.
27. An understanding of a range of SEND needs, including: ASD, ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication needs, emotionally based school avoidance
28. Contribution to the educational and social development of each young person
29. The ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
30. To ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate
31. Ensure that appropriate resources and environment exist for individual pupils referred to the service, and that opportunity for inclusion are available to all our students
32. To liaise with other teachers and teaching assistants in the team to ensure effective deployment of resources
