HGV Driver Trainer This exciting role has been created to assist and strengthen the current driver trainer Team within the business. Job Overview To be an ambassador for the company, training, coaching, and supporting the driver workforce whilst adhering to the company policies and procedures in a managed and safe environment. To assist with the ongoing driver recruitment to facilitate the planned expansion of the business. To monitor and maintain the high-quality standards of the fleet whilst striving for efficiencies and improvements. This role is based from our Culcavy Depot. Duties Carry out driver interviews, assessments, and evaluations. Carry out driver inductions. Complete driver training in accordance with legislation, company policy and procedures. Observe and understand all risk assessments in your area and the safe systems of work whilst constantly observing drivers conducting themselves correctly in this regard. Promote a proactive approach to maintain company standards. Provide refresher training as and when required. Provide full training on the use of the company app, control of job updates and uploading of delivery paperwork. Ensure drivers are trained on the safe loading / unloading and load restraint procedures. Monitor driving style, MPG, and idle time. Maintain all training records whilst ensuring that all company training material is kept up to date and relevant. Complete driver licensing checks on a quarterly basis to include CPC and driver cards. Deliver CPC courses when required. Monitor of drivers hours, produce reports on infringements and provide training as necessary. Assist with the investigation of any road and H&S accidents. Play an active role in the company audit processes to include ISO and BRC accreditation. Essential Criteria Minimum 5 years experience in the Transport and Logistics sector HGV class 1 held for a minimum of 2 years. Clean Driving Licence, up to date driver card and CPC Computer literate to include use of company apps Ability to create and present PowerPoint presentations. Good knowledge of HGV driver working hours Excellent communication and team working skills Strong people and organisational skills. Desirable Criteria Experience of delivering CPC training would be advantageous but not essential.
