As a Specialty Doctor in Addictions Psychiatry, you will play a pivotal role in delivering specialised care and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and addictive behaviors. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with compassion and expertise, helping them on their journey to recovery and improved mental well-being. This role is available to start as soon as possible for an initial period of 3 months. Position: Specialty Doctor in Addictions Psychiatry Hours: This position is a part time role of 16 hours per week Location: Stroke-on-Trent, Staffordshire Setting: CMHT Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with substance use disorders, including alcohol, drugs, and other addictive behaviors. Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of each patient, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities. Provide medication management and pharmacological interventions as appropriate, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Offer psychoeducation and support to patients and their families, helping them understand addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies. Qualifications: Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Completion of specialty training in Psychiatry and certification as a Specialist Doctor in Addictions Psychiatry. Demonstrated experience working in the field of addiction psychiatry, with a strong understanding of substance use disorders and addictive behaviors. Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development in the field of addiction psychiatry. Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
