Our Wastewater Strategy & Environmental Team (WWS&ER) plays a pivotal role in building trust with our external stakeholders and regulators. We’re looking for an Environmental Regulation Analyst to join the team.
What you’ll do
1. Support the business to meet its environmental regulatory reporting requirements.
2. Provide environmental regulatory support, advice, and guidance to the business.
3. Become a subject matter expert for reporting requirements and the tools used for reporting.
4. Work closely with Scottish Water staff and external stakeholders, including the Environmental Regulator, SEPA.
5. Coordinate the collation, review, and analysis of data for reporting.
6. Keep systems and trackers used for reporting up to date and create understandable reports and updates.
What you'll need
1. A general understanding of European and UK environmental legislation, particularly Scottish regulations.
2. A qualification in a scientific discipline is beneficial but not essential if you have equivalent experience.
3. Strong communication and collaboration skills to build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
4. Experience in data collation, review, and analysis, along with solid IT skills, particularly in MS Office.
5. The ability to interpret and analyze complex information critically.
6. A full UK driving license for site visits and key meetings.
Looking out for you
This role is full time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday with a flexible work pattern. You’ll receive 38 days of holiday each year (including public holidays) and have the option to buy five additional days. Paid time off is also available for community volunteering.

The not-so-small print
This role will be a Grade 6 with a starting salary of £33,560, progressing to a maximum of £44,140 based on performance.
You’ll need to live within commuting distance of one of our office hubs in the central belt, e.g., Edinburgh, Stepps, Stirling, Dundee, Perth. We operate a hybrid working model, balancing home and office work with site visits.
