What's involved with this role: Interim Finance Manager Job Ref: Bournemouth 5262805 Pay Rate: £441.00 per day PAYE approx Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3-4 months City: BOURNEMOUTH The main part of the role will be to initially support the current Finance Manager in post through the early parts of the year end processes until they leave in mid-April and then to take on the interim position of Finance Manager for children's services until the position is filled around the end of June and to allow for a hand over period to the new post holder. Your role will be to manage the financial performance of specified services and the Council as a whole, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities: Lead on the financial aspects for services, ensuring solutions are established that make effective use of resource in a demonstrably fair way whilst meeting the changing demand that the Council faces Provide complex, expert advice that is evidence based, in accordance with regulations and policies, and that will support Council decision making Manage and monitor service budgets, ensuring best fit with strategic direction of the service and a holistic approach to business planning in order to maximise outcomes for customers Proactively identify and develop the financial service by interpreting legislative requirements and developing processes that allow for national and local changes as well as developing staff and financial modelling for services and projects Completion of the statutory accounts, setting a balanced budget and ensuring financial control and reporting is maintained and developed Key requirements: Must be CCAB qualified Previous experience in a financial environment Previous experience leading within a multi disciplinary organisation Proactive balance of risk and benefit Please quote the Job Title & Vacancy Reference No. in your application, or we will be unable to match your CV to the role being applied for.
