Senior Editorial Writer
Leeds (just outside centre) - MUST live within a commutable distance
Salary: £24,500- £27,500 pa depending on experience + Benefits

This is a full-time, hybrid role with office-based work required. Applicants must be within easy travel distance to Leeds.

JLIFE Ltd has been providing design and print services since 2006, producing three successful lifestyle and community magazines, each published six times per year. We take pride in high-quality editorial and vibrant design that resonates with our loyal readership and client base.
We are now looking for an experienced and creative Senior Editorial Writer to join our team and take ownership of the editorial process, managing both content and people, and driving forward the quality and consistency of our magazines.
Duties include:
* Generating engaging written content and leading the editing and proofreading process to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with style guidelines.
* Conducting research for future editions and ensuring all content is accurate, relevant, and well-structured.
* Leading editorial meetings and working closely with the Editorial Assistant, helping to develop their skills and manage daily workflows.
* Organising and maintaining a content calendar to manage deadlines across multiple publications.
* Identifying and correcting editorial errors before production, upholding a high standard of quality and detail.
* Liaising with designers, clients, printers, and other team members to ensure written content complements visual design.
* Liaising regularly with community contributors and clients to chase content and meet print deadlines.
* Producing weekly editorial reports for the company director and helping coordinate wider departmental tasks.
* Working closely with the online team to manage competition content, data, and prize distribution.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in editorial roles, ideally within magazines, publishing, or lifestyle content.
* Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, structured and engaging editorial and promotional content.
* Demonstrable experience in proofreading and editing, with strong attention to detail
* Confidence in managing or mentoring team members and tracking their productivity.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working with clients and stakeholders.
* Relevant qualifications such as Journalism, English or Media.
* Knowledge of basic media law and editorial ethics.
* A creative, adaptable and proactive mindset.
