We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, skilled in multiple crafts, to join our team at De La Rue Authentication Solutions in Logan, Utah. This is an opportunity to work on a team that provides some of the most secure brand-protection features and anti-counterfeiting solutions to companies and governments throughout the world.
The Maintenance Mechanic is part of a small team responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all production equipment, the facility and surrounding grounds. Ability to fabricate and machine parts is required. Electrical experience is a plus.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Perform routine mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance on facility, grounds, and production equipment through work orders or scheduled PM programs
* Use company maintenance software to check out assignments and log work completed for work orders and preventative maintenance assignments
* Use mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC diagrams to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems
* Work on special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager which may include electrical wiring, welding, assembly, PLC programming, and equipment installation
* Fabricate prototype and machine parts per engineering drawings.
* Work “hand in hand” with outside contractors and equipment service technicians ensuring all work is done safely and within De La Rue guidelines
* Work shiftwork as assigned and be available for emergency calls as necessary
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Certification showing successful course completion in the following areas. Demonstrated competency or proof of prior experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
* Welding
* Pneumatics
* Hydraulics
* HVAC systems
* Basic plumbing skills (copper, pvc, pex, threaded steel)
* Basic machining skills (lathe, mill, saws, etc.) with CNC exposure and experience a plus
* Basic electricity
* Sheet metal fabrication
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be fully mobile with routine duties requiring standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and with the help of others and equipment, lift or move objects weighing thousands of pounds. Good vision and hearing are key capabilities required for the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to outside weather conditions. Potentially hazardous working environments which may include water, moving mechanical parts, energized electrical components, chemicals, fumes, noise, lasers, or airborne particles requiring a “safety first” mind set and complete understanding of PPE.
