Senior Structural Engineer
Our Opportunity
Are you an experienced and forward-thinking Structural or Senior Structural Engineer, looking to take the next step in your career? Pick Everard's thriving Structural Engineering team in Manchester is expanding and looking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer, who will have the opportunity to work on exciting new ventures and undertake site survey work.
There will be a wide, varied workload and the role will focus on the design and management of a diverse range of projects including health, education, commercial, custodial, and residential. You will take on and lead responsibility for the delivery of projects, ensuring they are delivered to the highest quality, on time, and to budget.
You will also have opportunities to achieve (if not already) chartered status, with mentors for both IStructE and ICE and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the chartership process.
About You
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional designs and be driven to succeed on a diverse range of projects. Our ideal Senior Structural Engineer must have:
1. Structural design experience in a similar role in steel, concrete, timber & masonry
2. Structural surveying experience
3. Good verbal communication – able to discuss work, liaise with clients and members of the design team, coach and supervise employees
4. Ability to use various computer software programmes relevant to the role (Tekla, Tedds, SCIA, AutoCAD)
5. Able to carry out site inspections
It would be nice for you to have:
1. Incorporated/Chartered membership of ICE or IStructE
2. Understanding of forms of appointment and construction contracts
3. Strong report writing and presentation skills
4. High level broad-based technical appreciation
