A look into the role
Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager, you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers’ expectations and makes a difference in the local community.
As Team Leader, you will:
1. Lead the store team to follow store policies, standards, and practices.
2. Take responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
3. Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork, and Integrity.
4. Train, manage the workload, and support your team while being hands-on in-store.
5. Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance.
6. Actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
7. Cover the Post Office when required.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
1. You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
2. A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members.
3. Target driven to help the store achieve their business plans/priorities and focused on continuous improvement.
4. Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
