Due to increasing demand, an experienced site manager / commissioning manager with a strong electrical engineering background is needed to work on a client’s site. The role involves managing all site-related aspects of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting quality specifications. The successful candidate will be qualified as described below and should ideally have recent relevant experience as well as SC or DV clearance. Job Description:
This role involves managing the installation and customer acceptance of Control System projects in the Nuclear sector, ensuring adherence to nuclear site safety standards and local work practices. Responsibilities include leading and motivating a project team, typically comprising software and hardware engineers, during the site installation and commissioning phases.
Key duties also include overseeing the work of installation subcontractors, particularly for cable installation and minor electrical or mechanical tasks. The role involves regular progress meetings with clients, producing related reports and minutes, and liaising with the Health and Safety Manager regarding site welfare. Close collaboration with project management ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to meet project objectives in terms of cost, budget, and quality.
Additional tasks include assisting with electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities, interpreting customer requirements, conducting site surveys, and producing electrical drawings and installation specifications.
Essential Requirements:
* Completed Client Contractors National Safety Group (CCNSG) Safety Passport Supervisor training
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) Certification
* Black Card (CSCS Black Manager Card)
* Background in Electrical Engineering
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
* First Aid at Work Certificate
* CDM Training relevant to specific site responsibilities
* Proven experience delivering Nuclear solutions on-site, ensuring timely, on-spec, and on-budget completion in a commercial environment
* Strong practical understanding of safety protocols
* Willingness to travel and work at customer sites
* Full UK driving licence
* Active DV / SC Clearance
