Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Advanced Care Practitioner in Trauma and Orthopaedics to join our team of Advanced Practitioners within the Surgery and Critical Care Group. You will work in the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team at our Furness General Hospital. We currently have a position available for a Advanced Practitioner who enjoys working within a fast paced, acute environment, delivering high quality care.You will work supporting both the nursing and medical teams in the assessment and treatment of patients with a range of conditions. Main duties of the job To act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidenced based patient care. He/she will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support in the care of patients. To undertake health assessments; diagnosing, treating and discharging patients. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will provide expert care and treatment to patients within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines. However the Advanced Clinical Practitioner will also have the ability to make decisions outside these frameworks, where necessary based on best practice. Provide support within the team and act as role model and resource, encouraging and developing a high standard of clinical skill and improving patient outcome. Functions in a variety of role dimensions: health care provider, educator, researcher, clinical advocate and implementer of clinical governance. About us We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
