Overview:
My client is looking for an established Quantity Surveyor with experience working with heavy civils contracts to contribute to a high profile infrastructure project based in the Midlands. This project will be focused around building pumping stations worth up to £14 million.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Identifying, raising, monitoring and closing Early Warning notices.
2. Identifying, raising, monitoring and closing Compensation Event notices.
3. Estimating and pricing Compensation Event quotations, negotiating through to agreement.
4. Working with others to ensure fully compliant NEC notices are raised under the contract, i.e. with the Planning Department for Time Impacted Programmes.
5. Advising other departments on contractual obligations of the Contractor.
6. Producing Applications for Payment in accordance with the stated NEC method, i.e. Activity Schedule under Option A.
7. Ensuring invoices are requested in accordance with the contract conditions.
8. Submit weekly dashboard to RCM for status of contract notices.
9. Producing Project Specific Cost and Value Reports.
10. Forecasting versus budget (cost and value).
11. Cost analysis - prelims, plant, equipment, materials, labour, subcontract.
12. Value analysis.
13. Subcontract management.
14. Cash flow and supporting the Finance department with cash collection when necessary.
15. Identifying margin improvement opportunities.
16. Supporting the commercial team in write-down of Work in Progress from Client/PMO.
Experience & Qualification:
1. 5+ years in a similar role in a contracting organisation.
2. Experience of NEC3/4 contracts (essential).
3. Experience of CEMAR or similar tools (essential).
4. Evidence of dispute resolution (desirable but not essential).
