Responsibilities Manage and develop the existing PPM System, install, and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to maximise equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime. Perform repairs and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and malfunctions promptly. Collaborate with the production team to plan maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialised repairs or maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including costs, repair logs, and equipment history records. Conduct regular inspections on the facility, machinery and fabrication tools to identify potential issues and address them proactively. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in maintenance to enhance efficiency and optimise equipment performance. Train and mentor junior maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant maintenance. Skills/Experience The proven ability to work safely and productively in the absence of close supervision. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience as a Maintenance Engineer or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex equipment issues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with senior team members and external service providers. Time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of safety regulations (18 th edition) and protocols. Qualifications Certification in maintenance-related areas such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and standards related to plant maintenance, such as ISO 9001. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
