We have an opportunity for senior nurses to join our Adult Community Team, based out of Fair Havens hospice, located near beautiful Priory Park.
This service runs across 7 days, and there is a requirement for evening and weekend working.
Main duties of the job
You will support and manage our community team members during a shift to enable patients' care needs to be met, being responsible for assessing the needs of patients, implementing and evaluating the care plans provided.

Job responsibilities
1. To ensure complete security of drugs and administer them safely in accordance with regulations.
2. At all times to act as the advocate for the patient.
3. To provide support for families and other carers, prior to and following a death, involving other agencies or disciplines when appropriate.
4. Participate in the education of other professional and non-professional staff in conjunction with the education department.
5. Be prepared to mentor students from educational establishments on clinical placements in conjunction with the education department.
6. To assist the Community Sister in leading and developing the staff in the community team, encouraging effective communication, setting objectives and helping to foster a positive team spirit through regular team meetings.
7. In the absence of the Community Sister, to ensure that the caseload is adequately staffed at all times, including days off and holidays in order to maintain levels of service and ensure cover for own holiday periods.
8. In association with the Community Sister and Head of Community services, recruit, train, support and coordinate the work of the staff in accordance with Havens Hospices policies and procedures.
9. Conduct appraisals and performance reviews as and when required.
10. To be responsible for the day-to-day health & safety and welfare of staff, patients, and families.
11. To ensure that staff are adequately trained to enable them to fulfil their duties effectively.
Person Specification
Qualifications
1. First level Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
2. Current and unrestricted practice registration with the NMC.
3. Post registration education and training up to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent.
4. Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
Skills & Experience
1. Demonstrable experience of managing a nursing shift and teams of staff.
2. Proficient ability to work with IT systems including Word, Teams, SystmOne, Excel, and Outlook.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding.

£37,338 to £44,962 a year, dependant on experience.
