Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Planner on a 6 month Contract, based in Rugby Hybrid working with occasional travel required to support project teams and engage with suppliers & stakeholders in high-security and marine settings. Job Overview: The Project Planner will be a key member of the project controls team with a focus on supporting the planning, cost control, and risk management for projects in the marine and high-security sectors. This role is critical to ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and to the highest security standards. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring alignment on project schedules, milestones, and deliverables while maintaining compliance with marine-specific regulations and security protocols. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Collaboration: · Partner with suppliers to ensure their schedules align with the overall project timelines, particularly in the marine sector, where tight schedules and high-security standards are critical. · Establish clear communication channels with suppliers to proactively manage any delays or issues, ensuring compliance with security and project requirements. · Conduct supplier schedule reviews and audits, ensuring adherence to both technical and security-related specifications. · Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure supplier contracts include robust planning, schedule management, and security criteria. Planning and Scheduling: · Develop and maintain detailed, integrated schedules that account for both internal project plans and supplier timelines, with a focus on marine project requirements and security considerations. · Implement best practices in project planning, including scenario analysis, to manage risks, especially those that may impact the secure delivery of the project. · Provide ongoing updates to project schedules to reflect progress and potential security or project delays. Cost Control and Risk Management: · Track project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring that financial controls align with both project goals and security protocols. Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) to track project performance and provide insights into schedule and cost adherence. · Identify project risks, including those that could impact security, and work with internal teams and suppliers to develop appropriate mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: · Act as the key liaison between suppliers, project teams, and senior leadership, ensuring clear communication of project schedules, budget status, and security concerns. · Regularly present project updates to stakeholders, including project performance metrics, security assessments, and supplier progress. · Work collaboratively with all parties to ensure projects are executed in line with expectations and secure protocols. Continuous Improvement: · Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project performance and incorporating lessons learned to enhance planning and control processes. · Benchmark project controls processes against industry standards, particularly in the marine and high-security sectors, to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities. · Assist in the development and implementation of enhanced process management frameworks. Required Qualifications: · Significant experience in project planning, controls, and scheduling within high-security and/or marine industries. · Proven track record in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams. · Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and financial systems (e.g., SAP). · Strong understanding of cost control, risk management, and scheduling within the context of high-security and marine projects.
