This is an exciting opportunity to join the Barnet Inpatient and Stroke Services (Edgware Community Hospital) as a Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist and team lead role, working with other MDT therapists (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, dietitians, speech and language therapists, rehab support workers), doctors, nursing colleagues and students, integrated care partners (GP's, practice nurses, social services, mental health, voluntary sector).
This post will have a lead role to develop the physiotherapy practice and deliver evidence based Inpatient Rehabilitation, enabling people returning home following initial treatment in acute units serving the Barnet locality. Proactively monitor and anticipate the changing needs of the patients, coordinating their care across health and social care system, and attend MDT meetings. Plan, implement, and review establishing patient centered goals, personalised specialised programs of health interventions that are preventative, self-managing, and supportive for these patients. This should also encompass crisis plan management for patients and carers where needed.
The role includes in- reaching and triaging acute referrals, coordinating the ward audits, team capacity, and working on service development projects with the wide North Central London Integrated Care system, coordinating student and new recruits.
Main duties of the job
* To be an active member of the multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation team, providing highly specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
* To participate in the delivery and evaluation of the general rehabilitation and Neurorehabilitation pathways.
* To be responsible for the education and supervision of junior physiotherapy staff, including rotational staff, rehabilitation assistants and physiotherapy students

Education/Qualification
* Educated to degree level with appropriate post graduate qualification in relevant clinical area
* HCPC registration
* Evidence Of CPD relevant to the treatment of people with neurological conditions
* Member of specialist interest group i.e. ACPIN/AGILE
* MSC in appropriate clinical area
Experience
* General experience at junior level and substantive experience at senior level in neurology.
* Postgraduate experience of working in a multi professional team
* Experience in teaching and training
* Experience of working in a community setting
* Experience of working in a NHS service
* Experience of research and clinical audit
Skills and Knowledge
* Advanced skills in the assessment, treatment and discharge planning of people with complex neurological conditions that may present with behavioural, cognitive and/or language problems
* Ability to apply core physiotherapy skills across a range of clinical conditions within a client centred, goal setting approach
* Awareness of own competency, knowledge and skill level and when to seek appropriate help
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant National and Local guidelines and frameworks
* Knowledge of outcome measures and up to date evidence based practice associated with people with neurological conditions
* Ability to problem solve, prioritise and demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning
* Advanced communication and report writing skills, in both verbal and written format
* Skills in supervision and appraisal of assistants, junior therapists and students
