Closing Date : 26th September Job Description We are seeking to employ a friendly, sociable, female Personal Assistant/Support Worker to provide assistance and care to a lady aged 54 years, who has severe mental & physical disabilities. The successful applicant will join our small existing team of PAs and family members. You will be required to provide support to the lady, who is totally dependent on others, within her family home. Initially, you will be 'shadowing' an existing team member for the required hours. This is to help build a lasting and supportive working relationship with the lady, as well as to help ensure that you have the training required and the confidence to carry out the necessary duties with a natural caring approach and a high regard to the lady's dignity and well-being. Location: Llandudno, Conwy Rate of Pay : £12.50 per hour Hours of Work One evening per week for one hour, day can be discussed at interview. 10 weekend hours per month, these can be worked on one day, or across 2 days, and will be discussed at interview. Additional hours will also be available throughout the year to cover annual leave or sickness. Duties and Tasks Prepare drinks and assist with feeding at meal times. Assist with continence care and personal care, including bathing, to be conducted with appropriate care and dignity. Undressing from day clothes into appropriate nightwear in readiness for bedtime Take for walks on weekends when weather is suitable Ensuring the lady's comfort. To ensure that due consideration is given to Health & Safety at all times. Any other duty commensurate within the scope of the role of Personal Assistant/Support Worker Personal Specification The successful applicant will need to: Establish a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times. Like dogs Be calm & patient and willing to learn Be willing and able to assist and work alongside another person to operate a hoist. Training will be provided. Undertake this role with due regard to physical, social, educational & recreational needs. Respect & safeguard goods & property. Respect privacy & uphold confidentiality at all times. Be punctual, reliable & flexible. Be willing to attend relevant training courses, if required.
