Consultant in Neurophysiology & interest in Paediatric Neurophysiology

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Paediatric Neurophysiologist including adult EEG sessions. This is a newly created post to help develop and support existing neurophysiology services.
The appointee will join a motivated and enthusiastic team working within Neurosciences and Paediatrics.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.
Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £106,000 per annum to £154,760 per annum.
Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Paediatric Neurology team to develop pathways for specialist investigation of children from all Welsh Health Boards. This would include both referrals into Cardiff and also outreach by liaison with the local Health Board neurophysiology departments to provide a specialist opinion when required.
The appointee will also be expected to provide an expert opinion / report on diagnostic tests performed within the service in relation to paediatric and adult services.
The post will involve reporting of paediatric and some adult EEG referred from secondary care in Cardiff and Vale UHB. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to run a paediatric neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic service.
Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's School of Medicine will be expected.

Qualifications
* On GMC Specialist Register for specialty / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR(CP) due within six months of interview date
* MRCP, MRCPCH, MRCS or equivalent higher diploma, qualification or degree
Experience
* Broad training and experience in clinical neurophysiology
* Experience in paediatric EEG and paediatric neuromuscular electro diagnostics
