Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for a new and exciting challenge?
Our Product Reliability department is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join their thriving team. As the Project Engineer, your main purpose will be to provide project management governance to the Product Reliability Department, as well as being responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing project activities to ensure the successful delivery of defence sector projects. You will also play a key role in managing project schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
What you'll be doing as a Project Engineer:
1. Create project plans, schedules, and determine milestones to meet internal and external customer expectations using earned value metrics and APQP Gated Process.
2. Coordinate tasks, scopes, objectives, and timelines across different teams to achieve project goals.
3. Develop risk mitigation plans to ensure project objectives are achieved without compromising safety or quality.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal and external teams, ensuring all parties are informed of project progress, risks, and issues, and managing expectations effectively.
5. Record task progress, update project plans, and ensure accessibility.
6. Build internal and external customer relationships throughout projects to ensure completion.
7. Ensure that projects run within cost, quality, and time metrics.
8. Submit project deliverables on time and document any delays or disruptions.
9. Maintain clear and effective communication across project teams to facilitate smooth project progression.
What we need from you:
1. Thorough understanding of project management principles and standards. APM, PMP, or PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification is essential.
2. Demonstrate a sound background knowledge in Project Management Gated Process and have knowledge or understanding of other Project Management techniques such as APQP or Agile process.
3. Excellent working understanding of Microsoft Project or JIRA applications.
4. Good interpersonal and written communication skills, the ability to make sound technical assessments/judgements based on knowledge and experience, self-motivated and able to work as part of an integrated team.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex project activities.
