Joining our 18-month Graduate Development Programme gives you the opportunity to work in a varied environment where no two days are the same, at the heart of a team protecting our assets.
As a Graduate Cyber Security in the National Energy System Operator (NESO), you will develop your skills to ensure our people, premises, and systems stay safe and secure. You will help manage the risk of evolving cyber threats to protect our vital infrastructure.
The services underpinning digital security are wide-ranging, including:
* Cyber Security Services, Product and Engineering – plan, design, implement, and support effective cyber security solutions.
* Operations – protect, detect, and respond to cyber incidents, providing specialist digital forensic support.
* Security Business Partnering – secure projects and ensure business success.
* Technology Risk – manage technology risks and assure controls across NESO.
* Strategic Risk & Governance – prevent and reduce the time to discover attacks through effective use of intelligence.
* Performance – define strategy and report security performance.
Our Graduate Programme
As a member of the Security team, you will help protect our people, premises, and digital systems to maintain trust in NESO’s services. You will deliver successful outcomes from various work areas, and you will experience how we manage cyber risk. For instance, you could:
* Analyse and assess potential security risks.
* Develop plans to address security incidents.
* Prepare technical reports to support our strategy.
* Conduct tests to expose weaknesses in security.
* Develop and maintain security products and services.
* Keep detailed records of investigations.
* Report findings to inform decisions about upgrades or remediation.
This role is based in Wokingham, with hybrid working options available depending on business requirements.
What You'll Need to Apply
As one of our Graduates, you’ll have the chance to start applying your studies! If you have a keen interest in technology and cyber security services, this role will appeal to you.
You’ll need to be curious, interested, and proactive, with a minimum 2.2 Degree classification in a Cyber Security related degree (preferred) or computing related degree (acceptable). You will also need a valid full UK Driving Licence at the time of application (essential for Cyber Security Engineering roles).
