Ensuring that the estate is maintained in accordance with all mandatory and legislative requirements and also HTMs / HBNs to provide a safe, secure and clean environment for all patients, visitors and staff. An interest in all engineering disciplines is useful as Healthcare Estates is complex, but a particular skill set in electrical is required.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Responsible for the provision and management of effective operational estates services in accordance with current best practice, risk management techniques and in line with Health Technical Memorandums / Health Building Notices.
2. Day to day management and supervision of operational estates staff within the Estates Department and also external contractors.
3. Maintaining the infrastructure and critical services to enable patients to be treated in a clean, safe and pleasant environment.
4. Responsible for managing and complying with all statutory instruments related to all estates infrastructure and engineering services.
5. To manage contracts, both internal and external, in addition to the directly employed workforce, to ensure the delivery of operational services.

Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge of Managing Estates
* Professional/academic qualification at degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience in a Technical or Estates discipline.
* Evidence of continuing personal and professional development in EFM disciplines.
* Demonstrable record in estates management/estates supervisory roles with ability to think and work across a range of activities.
* Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g., budgets, timescales.
* Knowledge and experience of the operation of NHS Organisations.
Management Experience of Changes within Teams
* Demonstrable record in estates management/estates supervisory roles with ability to think and work across a range of activities.
* Member of IHEEM / CIBSE / IET etc.
