Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be the first point of contact for technical inquiries, providing swift assistance with IT hardware and software, whether through phone, remote access, or face-to-face interaction.
Key duties will include:
* Providing technical support in the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of the EPOS software environment, escalating problems as required to resolution.
* Providing IT hardware and software support either by telephone, remote access, or visits as appropriate, including hardware repairs and redundant kit disposal; routine system, hardware and software maintenance; testing, installation, and configuration of new hardware and software in a network environment.
* Providing technical support for both client-server and peer-to-peer networks, internet connections, and email systems.
* Liaising with suppliers of maintenance and support services where appropriate to ensure the repair or maintenance of computer systems.
About you:
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Technical skills and best practice guidelines encompassing current versions of:
o Microsoft operating systems for desktops & servers.
o Network management solutions.
o Help desk software and reporting.
* Post qualification experience in a commercial or local government environment (or at least 4 years relevant experience without qualification).
* Experience of IT equipment build and repair techniques.

Your contract:
You will be on a permanent 37.5 hour contract, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays as required. The earliest start time is 8am, and the latest finish time is 8pm, varying in accordance with opening times.
