The Role
Working on the First Light project to transform the Royal Observatory, the Project Officer, First Light will be responsible for supporting the project team in planning, monitoring and delivering the project, ensuring that it meets its objectives, is completed on time and to budget. The project team is collaborative and agile, with members of the team delivering specific workstreams based on the needs of the project.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously; strong administrative experience, including meeting management and minute-taking; and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively and confidently communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. They will be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, with particular experience of using Excel, including using formulae and other functions.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post to deliver the First Light project for an initial period of 2 years with potential for extension depending on funding, in Band 6 – Management and Competent Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working 5 days between the hours of 9am-5pm. On occasion, some flexibility may be required.
Salary: £29,400 per annum
