The role:
As a Commercial Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working on platform, systems, equipment and services tenders for marine vessels to win new business. The role is predominately focused on business development, business winning, and growth strategy as opposed to contract management of operational contracts.
Day-to-day, you'll manage multiple bids and opportunities concurrently through to governance intervals to achieve approvals from senior stakeholders in order to submit and if won to ensure mobilisation activities enable operational readiness. This will include:
* Drafting of counterproposals and/or derogations (mark-up) of terms and conditions
* Lead in the identification of contractual risk, quantification, and mitigation strategies
* Lead in the development of the commercial strategy and governance for tenders/bids
* Develop innovative and pragmatic commercial solutions in a dynamic environment
* Promote and maintain compliance with commercial policies, processes, procedures
Essential experience of the Commercial Manager
* Experience in contract and bid management, ideally gained within a highly regulated industry
* Extensive knowledge of commercial terms and types of agreements
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
* Deadline driven to meet critical internal governance and customer timelines, with good attention to detail
Qualifications for the Commercial Manager
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law or Accountancy, however times served experience will be considered
* Professional memberships of, or working towards, CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or WCC (World Commerce and Contracting) or willingness to work towards as part of continuous professional development
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
