BTEC Level 2 in Leading Children's Sports Activities
This course has been developed in consultation with employers in the sport and active leisure industry. You will gain the knowledge and training for progression into Sports Coaching and Development and eventual employment as a Sports Coach for children. You will learn the skills, knowledge, and behaviours demanded by employers in the sports and active leisure industry. You will learn about the ways in which people participate in sport and physical activity, jobs in the leisure industry, personal skills and professional behaviours, the school environment and the National Curriculum, planning and leading children’s sports activity sessions, and sports industry legislation and guidance.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Assessment
The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence to show your practical application of the units.
Progression Opportunities
You could choose to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development, a Themis Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching, or into the activity leadership industry.
Equipment Needed
Students will need appropriate sportswear which can be purchased from College on enrolment.
Additional Opportunities
Take part in visits to St George’s Park centre for Football, Premier League Football Club Tours, and the National Football Museum. There are also opportunities for overseas trips including Club La Santa in Lanzarote for warm weather training, a European ski trip, and a visit to Sweden for the Gothia World Youth Cup Football Tournament.
