Main duties of the job Performs a wide variety of routine and non-routine duties in relation to the preparation and supply of medicines and related products for service users within the Health Board. The Pharmacy Technician is expected to exercise a degree of autonomy and control in the performance of allocated duties within limits set by the Chief Pharmacy Technician and in accordance with departmental and Health Board policies and procedures The post holder has trained and maintained the competencies required to carry out the duties of an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician. The post holder will hold and maintain the competencies or be willing to undergo the training required to undertake the duties of an Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician. Works under the management of the Senior Pharmacy Technician and ward pharmacist in area of work to ensure a safe and efficient service is maintained, delivering a range of medicines management activities including medicines reconciliation and medicines history taking. Further commitment to work autonomously in order to transcribe and clinically prioritise will be encouraged.
