Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Our client is a prominent Mechanical and Electrical design and installation company that offers a broad range of high-quality solutions to both the private and public sectors. They have extensive experience across various sectors including retail, leisure, healthcare, industrial, accommodation, and education, operating throughout the UK. Their services encompass project management, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health Engineering Services.
Role Summary:
Our client is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. The role is ideal for a candidate who is technically and commercially astute, with experience in handling commercial projects and valuing projects up to £4 million.
Key Responsibilities:
*Analyze tender documents and prepare accurate pricing estimates that include labor, materials, and subcontracted items.
*Prepare and review tenders for internal adjudication.
*Evaluate proposals from the supply chain to ensure optimal offers are included in the bid.
*Organize and lead tender adjudication meetings, discussing project timelines, costing strategies, and potential risks.
*Continuously compare project costs with tender estimates and update costing software accordingly.
*Liaise with contractors, clients, and internal teams including design and construction departments.
Skills and Attributes:
*Commercially aware with the ability to manage risk and anticipate issues that may affect costs.
*Detail-oriented and capable of working to tight deadlines.
*Proactive in suggesting systems that improve time and cost efficiency for clients.
*Able to work independently under the support of the Construction Director and collaboratively as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
*Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Experience and Qualifications:
*Proven experience and knowledge in pricing and operation of building services, preferably with an M&E contractor or within the M&E division of a main contractor.
*Skilled in estimating costs from architectural drawings and specifications.
*Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Excellent analytical, numerical, and literacy skills.
*Familiarity with MEP disciplines, BREEAM, and Sustainability would be advantageous.
