Environmental Health Officer Role Profile
Temporary contract - 6 months to backfill maternity, 0.4 FTE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Health Officer in our Food Safety team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player to undertake the full range of duties in the team, working in a busy City environment.
You will complete a programme of food safety inspections in accordance with the Food Standards Agency Food Law Code of Practice.
Experience is essential as we are looking for a competent officer who is able to undertake the work with minimal supervision; however, support and training can be provided to the right candidate if they meet the essential requirements of the post.
You will have proven oral and written communication skills, be able to work on your own as well as being a team player, and be capable of managing a heavy and varied workload. Due to the diverse nature of the roles, some working unsociable hours will be required.
The successful candidate will have:
1. A degree in Environmental Health
2. A certificate of registration awarded by the EHRB, or its predecessor, or have completed the CIEH EHP Portfolio and professional discussion, and be eligible for admission on the (CIEH) Register of Environmental Health Practitioners
3. Experience of food safety in a regulatory environment
4. A full driving licence
