David Trimble Chair in Leadership & Organisational Transformation
Job description: Queen’s University Belfast is delighted to announce the David Trimble Chair in Leadership and Organisational Transformation and is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate, based in Queen’s Business School (QBS). QBS at Queen’s University Belfast offers world-class undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education. Queen’s University Belfast is a member of the Russell Group, and QBS is accredited by EQUIS, AMBA, Small Business Charter, and has served as a PRME Champion institution since 2020.
Lord Trimble made a substantial contribution to the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement in 1998, something which he noted was the single most significant achievement of his life. Variously defined as a ‘leader of courage and vision’, demonstrating ‘bravery and determination in leadership’, his transformational role in the Northern Ireland peace process was formally recognised when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998. Given his long-standing and strong affiliation to Queen’s University Belfast, not only as an alumnus, former academic and Honorary Professor, the University is delighted to bring forward this new position to honour the life and work of David Trimble.
About the person: The David Trimble Chair in Leadership and Organisational Transformation will develop and strengthen the leadership education and research portfolio within QBS. This individual will contribute to strengthening QBS’ vibrant research culture and facilitate knowledge exchange and engagement amongst its wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Management or a closely related discipline with recognised expertise in leadership and organisational transformation, ideally in digital or data driven transformation.
What we offer: Beyond a competitive salary, the University offers an attractive benefits package including a holiday entitlement of up to 8.4 weeks a year, pension schemes and development opportunities. We support staff wellbeing with flexible working options, work-life balance initiatives and support for physical and mental health. You can find more detail on all of this and more at Pay, Reward and Benefits | People and Culture | Queen's University Belfast (qub.ac.uk).
Queen's University is committed to promoting equality of opportunity to all. We subscribe to Equality Charter Marks such as the Diversity Charter Mark NI and Athena Swan and have established staff networks such as iRise (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and International Staff Network) and PRISM (LGBTQ+) which help us progress equality.
