Key responsibilities:
• Provide advisory support to community energy leaders from across the Northern Powergrid region, facilitating connections with relevant Northern Powergrid technical colleagues and providing advice on engagement, governance, policy and practice for successful community energy schemes and enabling a just transition
• Work with our analytical teams to develop a framework for identifying communities most in need of support
• Deliver Community Energy Audits to identified communities, including focusing on how to support the most vulnerable customers to get fair access to clean, cheap electricity
• Gather intelligence about local and national funding schemes for decarbonisation initiatives and support communities to access these
• Work with the Regional Engagement team to integrate community energy needs alongside system development, feeding into their work with Local Authorities
• Manage engagement with community energy groups via Northern Powergrid’s Community Energy Forum and other groups
• Feed learnings about the needs of community energy groups into the business to ensure we meet their needs
• Give talks to local groups on what energy support is available and how to access it
• Develop advice, literature, videos etc. to educate about net zero and promote it to our customers and stakeholders
• Facilitate a joined-up approach to energy within identified communities, pulling together the breadth of energy support that Northern Powergrid offers and supporting communities to access it.

What qualifications and experience should you have?
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong communication skills and experience of working with a range of stakeholders as well as directly with customers
• Knowledge and experience of delivering energy advice or assessment
• Excellent people skills
• Experience of building and managing community-level partnerships, particularly within the community energy sector
• Good IT skills
• Good collaboration and team working skills
Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Previous experience managing energy advice and/or community energy programmes
• Certified Retrofit Assessment qualification
