Currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Engineer, at either Senior or Principal level, on a permanent staff basis for a leading engineering services provider based in Aberdeen.
The Senior/Principal Structural Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
* Assisting with resolving technical queries and ensuring satisfactory design changes are captured by change control.
* Producing calculations and participating in design reviews.
* Approving, checking, and preparing design/engineering documentation.
* Producing documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs and/or design books.
* Preparing engineering, construction, and equipment scopes.
* Conducting site surveys, both onshore and offshore.
* Responsible for a number of other engineering personnel to ensure work scope delivery and quality of work.
* Responsible for delivery, as part of the team, for achieving the target and completion of engineering documentation within the budget and schedule.
* Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with priorities and schedules as set out in the plan.
* Preparing engineering and construction scope for both labour hours and equipment estimates.
* Identifying increases or reductions in scope and assisting in raising the necessary support documents.
* Managing 3rd party suppliers in the execution of engineering delivery.
* Where required, acting as focal point for assigned projects and jobs, managing the contact with the client.
* Supporting preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders, and programmes for work for new and existing customers.
* Participating in incident investigations as required.
* Managing performance of any direct reports.
Experience/Qualifications:
* A degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline is essential.
* Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
* Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
* Experience with STAAD software and Mathcad is essential.
* Experience with offshore codes and standards, including AISC, is essential.

* Fabrication and constructability techniques.
* Lifting aid design.
* Installation techniques and LOLER lift plans.
* Application of structural analysis packages.
* Survey techniques.
