Job Purpose Reporting to the Hygiene Manager, the Hygiene Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining hygiene standards, developing training programs, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations across business units. Additionally, it includes managing resources, conducting internal audits, and promoting continuous improvement to meet organizational goals. The purpose of the role is to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and compliance across all business units, while fostering continuous improvement and effective resource management. Duties include: • Act as role model and ambassador towards our Company values • Monitor and maintain hygiene Standard Operating Procedures across the specific business units. • Provide and maintain training and development programs to support the hygiene teams across all sites • Promote continues improvement • Maintain resourcing across each site, to meet individual site needs, and overall business needs • Carry out internal audits of all sites and paperwork, providing coaching to site teams on areas for improvement • To ensure cleaning operations are conducted in compliance with customer specifications, whilst meeting Health & Safety, quality, productivity and cost targets • To ensure adherence to relative legislation throughout the production process • Monitor daily, weekly and periodical cleaning schedules making sure all maintained and completed as planned. • Supervise and audit the quality of clean and ensure non-conformances are dealt in a timely manner to ensure product integrity is not compromised • Control of your resources, labour and chemical usage • Ordering chemicals • Completion of environmental swabs and working with the wider Technical Team for testing and completion of reporting on such • Ensure accurate records are completed and implemented to provide effective administration for the purpose of external audits and due diligence • Full COSHH training and compliance and well as all in house training completed and annual refreshers as a top priority for self-development and for the team as a whole Skills include: • Communication Skills: Acting as a role model and ambassador for company values. Management of relationships with production and other departments for support and ad hoc duties. Engaging with multiple levels of people to ensure clear and transparent communication for all activities and raising of any concerns • Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick and efficient resolution of issues related to chemical concentrations, equipment malfunctions, or cleaning processes. Ability to adapt cleaning methods and chemical use based on specific situations and environments. • Reliability and Responsibility: Manage reporting on cleaning tasks to a high standard with 100% accuracy on all records an able to evidence activities when required for audits, both internally and externally Rectifying damages and ensuring equipment is well-maintained and operated correctly by all staff within the department • Chemical Handling Expertise: Knowledge and management of proper chemical concentrations and the ability to mix and use chemicals correctly. Understanding of which chemicals are appropriate for different types of cleaning tasks and equipment. • Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate and train specialist cleaning tools such as foamers, steamers, and sprayers. Confidence in the maintenance and troubleshooting of these tools to ensure they function correctly and efficiently. • Training and Mentoring Skills: Capability to train new operations staff and agency workers on proper cleaning procedures, including line cleans and factory cleans and maintaining records reflecting this completion Skilled in effectively communicating techniques and safety practices to ensure compliance and maintain cleaning standards. • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurate documentation of chemical use, training sessions, and cleaning procedures. Maintaining logs for equipment maintenance and any incidents related to chemical handling or equipment use. • Time Management: Efficiently managing and overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Balancing ad hoc duties and regular tasks without compromising quality. • Attention to Detail: Being accounts for thorough cleaning, especially in high-risk and high-care areas. Spotting and addressing small areas that need cleaning or maintenance and ensuring completion • Proactive Planning: Anticipating future cleaning needs and potential challenges, developing strategies to address them in advance. • Adaptability: Quickly adjusting plans and processes in response to emerging trends, regulatory changes, and unexpected situations.
