As a Business Development Manager, you will be working in a fast paced and challenging environment, so the ability to make the correct decision in a timely fashion is vital. You will have the ability to remain positive and think laterally when working in a high-pressure environment ensuring company targets are being met.
You will have a good understanding of Customer and Service needs, be an excellent communicator and team player, have good computer skills (Word and Excel), exceptional customer service skills with a strong work ethic. You will also have the ability to manage completing deadlines by estimating time frames and monitoring own progress; the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients on both a formal and informal level.
You will have the ability to drive profit generation, optimise efficiency and quality in the role by analysing and understanding the key drivers for business performance and identifying improvements.
You will be a self-starter who is commercially focused and responds appropriately on your own to improve outcomes and process’s and assumes responsibility for your own performance.

Scope
* Assist in pricing for Northern Quarry Products Limited (NQPL)
* Create customer price proposals/quotations for key projects; defining costs and resources required for each tender.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key business customers at the appropriate level, to understand their objectives and ensure they are delivered.
* Maintain a high degree of market and competitor awareness raising the profile and brand of Breedon Trading Limited and the wider Breedon Group.
* Assist the local commercial teams in securing key targeted project opportunities.
* Maintain and develop the project pipeline detailing future opportunities.
* Compile reports and commercial dashboard to allow monthly review of sales performance along with forecasting and pipeline analysis.
* Effective liaison with other internal functions across wider Region (Technical, Distribution, Internal Sales, Transport etc).
* Coordinate and submit pre-qualification questionnaires and submissions.
* Coordinate and submit framework tenders for various public bodies (Scottish Water, Councils etc), along with the required monthly and quarterly returns.
* Assist in coordinating online e-portals.
* Support the Business Manager & Commercial Manager with developing pricing strategies for the Scottish Materials Business.
* Regularly review progress against major accountabilities with a quarterly formal review
