Job summary
This is a 30 hour post - salary will be pro rata part time.
You will work flexibly within the designated six towns across the borough of Sandwell, working and engaging within a range of communities and partners. To increase referrals into the service by development of community partnerships and to recruit and coach peer networks across various settings. Working within the heart of the communities to engage with difficult-to-reach groups, encouraging local people to volunteer to support the service. Support people to identify barriers to accessing services (language, mental or physical health, digital exclusion etc), work with the wider team to break down barriers, improve service development and delivery and easing the transition from potential client to active client.
You will be confident in the use of social media to engage with stakeholders. To include producing posts and communicating via Facebook messenger and Facebook pages.
You will be expected to engage at neighbourhood, community and place level to recruit a team of Peer Support Volunteers who will work to increase referrals into the service and build long- lasting relationships with local partners. This will involve being responsible for developing and maintaining strong, positive relationships with a wide range of communities and organisations. Support the development of the services communication strategy.

Key responsibilities will be
Recruitand coach peer facilitator networks across various settings. Engaging with localpeople, services and partners to ensure local awareness and explore partnership opportunities and co-productionactivities.
Workingclosely with operational colleagues to support and increase referrals anddevelop partnerships with all potential referrers in your locality.
Attendinglocal health forums/groups/meetings where required to represent ABL, promotethe service and maintain local partnerships.
Updatethe partnership database with all contacts including required follow up contact.
Assistwith incoming and outgoing telephone calls. Take Stop Smoking Practitionertraining to offer support to service users during your role.
Skills and Competencies Required
Experienceof strategic and hands on development and delivery of a Peer Support VolunteerTeam.
Overseeand measure the impacts of Sandwells marketing and communications strategy.
Embedreferral pathways to ensure efficiency and quality referrals into the service.
Be experienced in community engagement and partnership working in acommunity health environment.
