Skin Me is a mission driven start-up with seriously big skin goals. We’re looking for an experienced pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at Skin Me, as the Quality Assurance Manager. This is a full time role working from our production facility managing the day-to-day running of the pharmacy operation. You will be contracted to 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with occasional out-of-hours responsibilities. About the role: As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the pharmacy and the management of the Quality Assurance Pharmacist team. It will be your responsibility to ensure regulatory compliance of the pharmacy to the standards required by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You will also be responsible for managing the Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQMS), a key tool for ensuring the continued regulatory compliance of the pharmacy. Additionally, you will work closely with other stakeholders in the business acting as regulatory subject matter expert (SME) to ensure that any new projects/processes are introduced without affecting the compliance of the pharmacy regulations. Furthermore, you will strive to improve processes, continually identifying gaps and making any efficiency/compliance gains where possible. What you'll do: Manage a team of Quality Assurance Pharmacists, Develop and maintain clinical governance and regulatory compliance of the pharmacy. Ensure all members of staff adhere to the Quality System and work with the team to continuously improve the safety, efficiency and quality of the facility. Develop new policies for information and clinical governance and also ensure existing policies are adhered to by all members of staff. Develop and maintain clinical risk assessments and ensure all legal requirements are met. Ensure best practices are followed to ensure the quality of product and facility, identifying gaps where possible and developing new processes/systems to plug identified gaps. Assume the role of Responsible Pharmacist when covering your team’s annual leave/sickness absence during which you will perform batch release processes by reviewing all batch data ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained for every batch. Having a hands on approach to all aspects of the operation within the facility including quality and batch control analysis Design and maintain SOP’s for all pharmacy activities ensuring compliance with relevant bodies GMP responsibilities: Report any suspected falsified medicines if required to the MHRA, as required. Report any deviations, complaints & raw material issues that could lead to a recall Ensure that all staff employed temporarily or permanently carrying out activities are trained appropriately Own incident reporting and process improvement to uphold quality standards Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure continuous compliance with all legal and regulatory standards Who you are: Essential requirements Qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC Naturally motivated, enthusiastic and meticulous Detailed knowledge of pharmacy regulatory standards, laws and ethics, with specific expertise in quality assurance of unlicensed medicines (yellow guide). Prior experience managing a team. Desired: Prior ‘start-up’ experience and demonstrated entrepreneurial attitude. Knowledge of pharmaceutical science or a committed desire to learn. Experience in a compounding pharmacy or the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with cosmetics or dermatology products. Experience raising and managing non-conformance requests.
