Do you have an interest in healthcare and technology? Would you like to start a career as a teaching technician helping to train new nurses, midwives, and paramedics?
We are looking for a Technician Apprentice to help further the growth of our Institute of Health at the University of Cumbria. As part of the role, you would provide technical support to a wide range of programmes, including Nursing, Paramedic Practice and Diagnostic Radiography, across a number of clinical skills laboratories at our Lancaster campus.
As part of our technical apprenticeship training programme, you will be placed on the Level 3 Higher Education Assistant Technician course, which is offered by CSR Scientific Training Group and delivered online. You will also be enrolled on the IOSH Working Safely qualification and wouldbe mentored by senior technicians within the team, receiving specific training in equipment and technology used by all of the Health programmes we currently offer.
On successful completion of your training, you will have gained all the required skills to go on to a successful career as a teaching technician supporting Healthcare programmes within the HE sector and would be considered for the opportunity to continue working at the University of Cumbria permanently.
