Job Description Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Development Engineer/ Design Engineer required to join a global, leading engineering manufacturer. The successful Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Development Engineer/ Design Engineer shall be responsible for creating 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings, managing BoMs and engineering changes in SAP, supporting production for efficiency, liaising with stakeholders, monitoring project progress, conducting cost analysis, developing test procedures, and maintaining engineering documentation. The Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Development Engineer/ Design Engineer will ideally have strong mechanical knowledge and CAD expertise, including experience with Autodesk Inventor to design and simulate 3D models, create detailed manufacturing drawings, and manage complex Hydraulics Systems for bridges systems and similar industrial projects. Produce single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and termination drawings in accordance with ISO and industry standards. Monitor and report progress of projects through the design and build process, resolving any issues impacting progress. Develop project time estimates and product cost comparisons, selecting materials and technical data accordingly. Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders during the design phase to ensure effective spatial and functional integration. Create test procedures for projects and oversee factory acceptance tests. Liaise with various engineering departments Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Development Engineer/ Design Engineer Requirements Experience as a Design & Development Engineer, Project Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Engineering Design Specialist, Product Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Applications Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, or in a similar role within mechanical engineering and/or manufacturing Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably one handling machining, fabrication, assembly, compressed air systems or similar. Proven experience in process engineering and cost analysis. Proficient in producing detailed design drawings or models using 3D Inventor and AutoCAD software. Strong understanding of change control processes, hydraulic systems, and experience with PL/SIL calculations. NC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; a degree in a related field is a plus. Qualified to degree level or equivalent within an engineering discipline is advantageous. Commutable to Leeds when needed.
