Job Title: Accountant – Finance & Corporate Location of work: Reigate Town Hall (Hybrid) Salary: £43,788 – £47,994 per annum (dependent upon experience and qualification) Basis: Full time, Permanent About the Role This fantastic role sits within the Finance and Corporate Accounting section of our finance team. In this role, working with the Group Accountant with you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial and corporate accounting for the Council, including treasury management, bank reconciliations maintaining core controls, submissions of returns and preparation of end of year returns. As well as contributing to the effective performance for the team and identifying opportunities to develop the finance service we provide. you will provide professional support to colleagues across the council and coordinate the council’s insurance management. Who are we looking for? To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified, part-qualified (CCAB/AAT for example) and will have good experience in financial accounting, completing reconciliations and analysis to support key financial controls, as well as have strong experience in year-end accounting and treasury management, preferably within a Local Government setting. You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, with great self-organisation skills and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. You will work well as part of a team, with a flexible and a positive attitude, and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines. You will also have experience of developing working relationships and have strong verbal and written communication skills to share information about financial matters effectively.
