CNC Miller Setter Operator Stroud Full time Permanent Double Dayshift Key Responsibilities – CNC Miller Setter Operator This role provides the business with the running of one or more CNC machine in the relevant CNC Cell. Setters are responsible for crafting and maintaining precision parts and components, which are crucial in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. • Responsible for operating one or more CNC machines in the Cell. • Responsible for daily machine health check list. • Responsible for stamping own work. • Report NCR’s. (Non-Conformance Reports). • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment. • Partake in training when required. • Minimise the level of scrap components. • To mentor and support any new staff or apprentices which are working within the Machine Shop. • To actively work with the Production Team Leader and Production Manager to establish key delivery dates/requirements. • Communicate workshop issues to the CNC Setter / Charge Hand’s, and Production Team Leader. Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Miller Setter Operator GCSE’s or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering qualification preferably craft apprenticeship or equivalent. Basic CNC programming and machine competence. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be able to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardised situations. Experience of Horizontal Milling (nice to have) Ongoing training Knowledge of machining exotic materials such as Inconel and Duplex (nice to have) What we can offer – CNC Miller Setter Operator Annual Salary Reviews Competitive annual salary and generous shift allowances Holidays equivalent to 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
